Description
From Kröhnert's STARDUST series (2020), this stippled plot renders 'Mystic Mountain,' the pillar of dust and gas in the Carina Nebula made famous by Hubble's twentieth-anniversary image of 2010. The Vienna-based architect and plotter artist converted the photograph into thousands of individual dots using StippleGen and her Rhinoceros/Grasshopper workflow, then drew it over five to eight hours on her self-built pen plotter in acrylic and metallic gel inks on black A3 paper. Issued in an edition of five, each plot is unique owing to the changing state of the pens and studio conditions during the long drawing sessions.
