A different painting from the collection's other Yellow Roses, and the moodier of the two: yellow blooms sink into dark olive foliage between a grey vessel above and a russet tabletop below, with a slab of grey falling through the right-hand edge. Collard's self-built painting machine made it the way it makes all his flower paintings — real brushes laying oil paint onto canvas under computer control, the horizontal travel of the strokes still visible across the surface.
