“Horizons”
The original screenprints contained in this portfolio, entitled “Horizons,” were created by the artist Claudia Keller for the mbp edition “Art and Computer.”
The artist’s ideas and specifications are realized by computer. As a working tool, the computer translates her artistic creativity into a degree of perfection and precision that had previously not been possible using conventional means; the result is a vivid and colorful visual world.
Asked the question, “Art and computer— a contradiction?”, the artist replies:
“For me, the computer has approximately the same significance as the orchestra has for the composer. Neither the computer nor the orchestra can function without ideas, assignments, and compositions, but both offer fascinating possibilities for realizing artistic intentions.”
Claudia Keller’s individual and independent artistic path has already brought her international recognition. Numerous exhibitions, as well as works held in public and private collections, testify to this.
Claudia Keller was born in Dessau in 1942 and studied at the Cologne College of Fine Art and the Düsseldorf Art Academy. She received the Ernst Poensgen Scholarship, was awarded a prize for computer graphics, and received the sponsorship award of the Rheinische Post. She currently lives and works as a freelance artist in Düsseldorf.
