Description
Carte de Vœux (“Greeting Card”) demonstrates Vera Molnár’s distinctive fusion of geometric rigor and playful experimentation through early computer-generated drawing. Molnár introduces small programmed deviations within an ordered system, allowing the image to appear both precise and unexpectedly expressive. Though rooted in mathematical logic and serial processes, the work retains a lightness and human warmth suggested by its title, reflecting the artist’s enduring interest in the poetic possibilities of computational art.
After I bought this I realized it is a New Year's card — Molnár drew these as greetings and sent them out. The sheet is signed "V.M. /90" in pencil at lower right, so it was drawn at the end of 1990 to greet 1991.
