Description
A swarm of fireflies rendered as a drawing that never settles. Lines explore the canvas along unseen flow fields and fixed geometries; where their paths meet they close into shapes, and each shape then answers its neighbours. Every shape carries its own clock, ticking slowly on its own but leaping forward whenever it sees others flashing, so pulses of light propagate across the swarm the way a real firefly chorus synchronises. A few hidden drifters wander beneath the surface and nudge the clocks on as they pass, which is what produces the sudden surges. Nothing coordinates the timing centrally; the rhythm is the sum of local responses.
