Description
Storm clouds mass over dark water, and at the bottom of it all a tiny sailboat sits in a patch of moonlight — the human scale in Lemercier's Point Cloud turmoil series. The turmoils are his climate-crisis sublime: "the chaotic feelings one may experience in times of climate crisis," stippled in thousands of dots of white ink on black paper in the register of Gustave Doré's engravings (1832–1883), and grounded in the artist's time in German coal mines, which he says cured him of techno-optimism. Released with turmoil 2 in March 2023. Silkscreen, edition of 100, numbered and signed.
