Description
Vincent Pidone, a Kingston, New York artist working in the Hudson Valley, has built a sustained body of untitled moiré drawings in which layered fields of closely spaced ink lines interfere to produce shimmering secondary patterns that no single line contains. He draws some layers by hand and plots most with an AxiDraw, a practice profiled by the machine's maker, Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories, in 2019, the year he exhibited his moiré drawings at Walnut Hill Fine Art in Hudson. This 2017 sheet belongs to that ongoing series of optical investigations in ink on paper.
