Description
Not a drawing at all, though a vintage plotter made it: for Composition #86 — It is what it is (2023), Schwittlick mounted a 5-volt laser pen in a Roland DG DXY-1200 plotter and let it expose Ilford Multigrade photographic paper in the darkroom, then developed and fixed the sheets like any photograph. The series of one hundred hand-made luminograms pays homage, in his words, "to the concrete photography movement… the materiality of the medium itself." Shown at Untitled Art during Miami Art Week 2023.
