Description
The Madrid artist Gnosick (Javier Iglesias Algora, b. 1977) draws without preliminary sketches, leaving his mind blank and allowing intuition to guide a visual language he says "we don't understand rationally but which establishes links with the mystery of our soul." Reverie 14, a silver-ink drawing of 2017, comes from the year of his Ataraxia Geométrica exhibition at Swinton Gallery, Madrid, in which precise geometric line-work served as both meditative discipline and cosmic diagram. His imagery draws on sacred geometry, mysticism, and ancestral cultures, an inward-facing practice summed up in his motto: "Step aside reality. Step inside yourself. It's full of stars!"
