Description
Anders Hoff is the Oslo-based artist behind inconvergent, a long-running project exploring complex behaviour arising from simple rules. This drawing comes from his Differential Lattice system: a mesh of connected nodes that pull toward one another while repelling every unconnected neighbor, with new nodes seeded where the structure is thin so the form accretes outward from its edges — Hoff himself compares the growth to a slime mold. He plotted it in 2017 on his AxiDraw, and, following his naming system, titled the sheet with the short hash of the code version that generated it (04b486a). Like all of his mechanical plotter drawings, it is unique — marked with its name and date, signed, and numbered 1/1.
